“It’s a smart-ass vibe, in a good way.”

 – Phantom Power Music

“This is a band with an extraordinary prowess, managing to squeeze fat, full and satisfying sounds from a meager setup.”

Saucy Posse opens for One Less Guest with Cherry Tang

July 23rd 2022 8:00 pm | DiPiazza’s, 5205 Pacific Coast Hwy, Long Beach, CA

From Nick Muska of One Less Guest“Equal parts funk, genre-bending alt rock and kitchen sink realism, the LA-based power trio excels at finding strange in the familiar—both in their storytelling and in their musicality.”

We Sauce It – You Poss It

Genre’s a weird word. Categories are usually invented out of necessity only after the fact, case in point being Saucy Posse, whose debut album Sparky’s Bargain Warehouse proves that consistent band persona is unrelated to any single genre. Bringing together elements of funk, rock, jazz, and intriguing narratives, Saucy Posse is the kind of storytelling you can bang your head to.

On a spring afternoon in 2019 and in a serendipitous twist of fate, Harry Donihue and Dallin Nelson went for a beer after work. As conversation veered toward music, they found out that they shared a few key influences and agreed to jam.

Just like that, Saucy Posse was born. Their first track “Sewer People” was recorded in a garage studio mere weeks after that first jam session, and the rest is history.

Today, Saucy Posse delivers head-bangable riffs that bring a fresh take to rock music hardly better described than “rad”, and while band members may cycle through at breakneck speed, their mission remains constant: trailblaze through the very notions of modern music, bend genre, and funk you up.
